Does Photo Review upload my photos to the cloud?
No. Photo Review never uploads, transmits, or copies your photos, videos, or metadata to external servers or cloud services. All photo analysis, perceptual hashing, smart category filtering, and duplicate detection happen entirely on your iPhone’s local processor and Apple Neural Engine.
Does Photo Review track me or use analytics?
No. We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or user tracking tools (no Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Adjust, or Firebase Analytics). We do not sell, rent, monetize, or share your personal data with any third parties.
What happens when Photo Review deletes a photo?
When you confirm a cleanup, Photo Review uses Apple’s native system API to move the selected photos to your device’s Recently Deleted album. Photo Review cannot permanently erase photos without Apple’s system-level confirmation dialog, and deleted photos remain recoverable for 30 days in Apple Photos.
Does Photo Review store my payment or credit card details?
No. All in-app purchases and subscriptions (Photo Review Plus) are processed exclusively by Apple through Apple StoreKit 2. We never receive, process, or store your credit card, billing address, or financial information.
How do I delete all of my Photo Review data?
Because your review history and staged items exist only on your physical device, you can completely erase all local app data at any time by tapping Settings → Reset Review Data, or by uninstalling the application from your iPhone.
01 100% On-Device Processing
- No Photo Uploads: Photo Review never uploads, transmits, or copies your photos, videos, or metadata to external servers or cloud services.
- Local Scanning & Duplicate Detection: All photo analysis, perceptual hashing, smart category filtering, and duplicate detection happen entirely on your iPhone’s local processor and Apple Neural Engine.
- Local Storage: Your review decisions, queue progress, and staged deletion lists are stored solely within the app’s sandboxed local storage on your device.
02 Photo Library Access & Permissions
To function as a photo management and cleanup tool, Photo Review requests permission to access your iOS Photo Library (PHPhotoLibrary):
- Read Access: To load high-resolution images, thumbnails, Live Photos, and EXIF metadata (file size, dimensions, camera model) for you to review and inspect.
- Deletion Access: When you confirm a cleanup, Photo Review uses Apple’s native system API (
PHAssetChangeRequest.deleteAssets) to move the selected photos to your device’s Recently Deleted album. Photo Review cannot permanently erase photos without Apple’s system-level confirmation dialog, and deleted photos remain recoverable for 30 days in Apple Photos.
